Links still matter. How you get them matters more. Here is what BabyLoveGrowth’s exchange is, what Google says about exchanges, and a labeled way to get your business mentioned.

## Quick answer

- What it is: partner sites in a network linking to each other.
- Google: lists excessive link exchanges as link spam.
- Risk: lower rankings if a site breaks the policies.
- Labeled option: Business Spotlight from $30/month.

## What a backlink exchange is

A backlink exchange is a network where member websites link to each other. BabyLoveGrowth includes access to one, made up of its partner sites. Source: [BabyLoveGrowth backlinks page](https://www.babylovegrowth.ai/en/backlinks)

## What Google says about link schemes

Google's spam policies describe link spam as links made mainly to manipulate rankings, and list "excessive link exchanges" among the examples. Sites that break the policies can rank lower or drop out of results. Source: [Google Search spam policies](https://developers.google.com/search/docs/essentials/spam-policies#link-spam)

## A labeled alternative: Business Spotlight

Business Spotlight publishes articles about your business on The Company Chronicle, a news publication. Every feature is labeled as a paid feature and the link to your site is marked properly. No exchange, no network of partner sites.
