Project 014 — The fern walk

The studio

We design gardens that look like they grew there on their own: layered planting, quiet stone, and paths that make you slow down.

Plant firstStructure comes from planting, not from hardscape alone.
Local stoneMaterials that look at home in your region and age well.
Patient designGardens planned to look better in year five than in week one.

Questions

Before we begin.

Do you design small gardens?

Yes. Small courtyards and front gardens benefit most from careful design, because every plant and stone is seen up close.

Can we do the garden in phases?

Absolutely. We'll make a full plan, then build in stages so each phase looks finished on its own.

Do you use native plants?

Mostly, alongside well-behaved favorites. It's better for wildlife and needs less watering once established.

When is the best time to plant?

Spring and fall are ideal for most plants. We'll plan the build so planting lands in the right window.

Do you offer ongoing care?

Yes. Seasonal visits keep the design on track as plants grow and fill in.
