Accountant working with a calculator

How a month closes with us.

Same steps, same dates, every month, so you always know where your numbers stand.

  1. Connect bank & card feeds
  2. Categorize and reconcile
  3. Review open questions with you
  4. Close the month & send reports
  5. Flag anything tax-related early
The year, in six entries

Every deadline,
already on our calendar.

You should not have to remember filing dates. We plan the whole year around them, and tell you weeks ahead what we need from you and why.

JAN

Year-end close

Final reconciliations, 1099 prep for contractors, payroll year-end forms.

MAR

Business returns

Partnership and S-corp returns, or a filed extension with a plan.

APR

Individual returns

Owner returns, first quarterly estimate, a calm review of the year.

JUN

Mid-year check

Second estimate and a look at whether withholding still fits.

SEP

Third quarter

Estimate number three, plus extension returns finished early.

DEC

Planning window

Equipment, retirement contributions and timing decisions, before the year closes.

Receipts welcome

Clean books.
Quiet Aprils.

Send the shoebox, the spreadsheet or the half-finished software file. We sort it, reconcile it and hand back numbers you can actually make decisions with.

Getting started

From shoebox
to closed month.

Most new clients arrive a little behind. That is normal, and it is exactly what our first weeks together are designed for.

01

Intake conversation

A working call about your business, your entities and where the records live today. No judgement about the state of things.

02

Secure document hand-off

A private upload link for statements, prior returns and receipts. We list exactly what is missing instead of asking for everything.

03

Catch-up and clean-up

We rebuild the months that need it, reconcile every account and flag anything that looks off before it reaches a return.

04

Monthly close, on a date

From then on, your books close on the same day each month, with a short written summary of what changed.

Typical engagements

Which line
are you on?

Illustrative situations we take on every season. Each starts with the same intake conversation.

Catch-up

Two years of unfiled bookkeeping.

A growing business ran on bank statements alone and now needs accurate records for a loan or a return.

We reconstruct the ledger month by month, then file what is outstanding.

Entity question

Should this become an S-corp?

Profits have grown and the owner keeps hearing that a different structure could help.

We model both options with your real numbers and explain the trade-offs plainly.

New hire

First employee, first payroll.

Hiring is exciting until the withholding, registrations and quarterly forms arrive.

We set up payroll properly and add it to the monthly close.

Behind the desk

A quiet, careful
back office.

The reconciliation desk

Same preparer every year

The person who prepares your return knows your business, your history and your quirks.

Questions answered in writing

Every answer you get from us is written down, so it is still there next April.

Owner reviews

Plain-English summaries

A one-page monthly note: what came in, what went out, what to watch next month.

Ledger notes

Resources.

Checklist

What to gather before your first bookkeeping call

Guide

Receipts: what to keep, how long, and in what form

Explainer

Quarterly estimated taxes without the panic

FAQ

Fine print,
in plain print.

The things new clients ask before the first call.

Can you help if we are behind?

Yes. Catch-up work is a large part of what we do, and we will show you a realistic order of operations before starting.

Do we need to switch accounting software?

Usually not. We work in the common small-business platforms and only suggest a change when the current setup is costing you time.

Who will actually do our books?

A named bookkeeper, reviewed by a senior preparer. You will always know who to ask.

How do we send documents?

Through a private upload link. Paper is fine too; we scan it and give it back.

Do you do tax returns as well?

Yes, for the business and its owners, which is why the books and the returns always agree.

Balance the
books.

Tell us where things stand today. Current, a little behind or a shoebox: we will map the next step.

Tell us where your books stand.

Current, a little behind, or a shoebox. We've seen all three.
