Before you move a website, find out what can transfer, what has to be rebuilt, who controls the domain and email, and which pages already bring in customers. Our switching assessment answers those questions in writing, with a scope and price, before anything changes. You keep your domain. You do not need a new one just because we take over the work.
Why a move needs a plan
Most switching problems are not about design. They come from details nobody wrote down: a domain registered in a former employee’s name, business email that stops when the old host is canceled, a contact form that quietly sends to an old inbox, or a page that brought in half of last year’s calls and disappears in the rebuild. Google notes that significant site changes can cause temporary ranking fluctuations, which is why old addresses should be mapped to new ones and redirected deliberately.
The six stages we check
| Stage | What we check |
|---|---|
| Discovery | Your current platform, who has access, your domain registrar, your email provider, forms, the pages that matter most and any connected tools (booking, ordering, payments, chat). |
| Scope | What can transfer, what has to be rebuilt, what changes the price and what we do not support. You get this in writing. |
| Preservation | Your text, images, existing page addresses, analytics access and the functions customers rely on, such as forms and booking buttons. |
| Technical plan | A staging copy, backups, an old-to-new address map with redirects where addresses change, launch checks and who does what if something has to be rolled back. |
| Launch | Forms tested end to end, booking and ordering buttons checked, mobile navigation, links and email records confirmed. |
| After launch | Errors, search performance for the pages that mattered and anything customers report are watched in the weeks after the move, as part of Website Care. |
What usually moves and what is rebuilt
| Where your site is now | What usually transfers | What is usually rebuilt |
|---|---|---|
| GoDaddy Website Builder | Your domain, text, images and business details | The design and layout, because builder templates do not export as a standalone site |
| Wix or Squarespace | Your domain, text, images and blog posts (with some manual work) | The design and any built-in apps, which stay with that platform |
| WordPress | Content, images and often the page addresses themselves | Themes and plugins that are outdated, unsupported or not needed |
| A developer or agency site | Whatever they hand over: content, images and access | Anything they will not release, which is why ownership is checked first |
Every site is different, so treat this as a starting point. The assessment confirms it for your site.
What to have ready
- The address of your current website.
- Where your domain is registered, and whether you can log in there.
- Where your business email is hosted (for example Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 or your web host).
- The pages customers use most, and any forms, booking or ordering buttons that must keep working.
- Any logins to analytics or Google Business Profile you already have.
- Anything you want changed or removed in the new site.
Do not send passwords in the form below or by email. Once scope is agreed, we arrange access the safe way: you invite us as a user where the platform allows it, or we make DNS changes together on a call while you stay logged in.
What we promise and what we do not
- We give you a written scope before you pay anything.
- Your domain stays in your account, and you keep control of it.
- Where page addresses change, we map and redirect them, then monitor the result.
- We will not tell you every feature transfers unchanged. Some builder apps and custom tools do not, and we say which ones before the move.
- We do not promise rankings. A careful move protects what you have; it does not guarantee new positions.
What it costs
Moving is priced like any website we build: the package that fits your page count, from $399 for up to five pages, plus Website Care at $30/month for hosting, HTTPS, backups, weekly checks and small edits. The assessment tells you which package fits, and anything outside it, before you decide. Ten revision rounds are included.

Common questions
Will I lose my Google rankings if I switch?
A move can cause temporary movement, especially when page addresses change. Mapping old addresses to new ones, redirecting them and watching the results afterward is how that risk is kept small.
Do I have to change my domain?
No. You keep your domain. We point it to the new site.
Will my email keep working?
Yes, if it is planned. We check where your email is hosted and keep those records in place when the domain is pointed at the new site.
Can you move a site from GoDaddy, Wix or Squarespace?
Yes. The content and domain move; the design is rebuilt, because builder templates stay with their platform.
How long does a switch take?
It depends on the size of the site and how quickly access is arranged. Delivery can be as fast as 48 hours for eligible projects once scope and content are ready; the assessment gives you a realistic date.
