Launching a team site starts with the schedule and a join button, because that is what players and parents look for first. The rest can be added around those two things.
How the launch unfolds
Day 1-2: You send the schedule, roster approach, sponsor list and registration details, and we confirm the page plan.
Week 1: We build the home page with the join button, then the schedule, roster and sponsor pages, and share a preview.
Week 2: You check dates and field names, confirm which player details are public and approve the join form.
Launch: We test the join path on a phone and go live; launching within 48 hours is possible for eligible projects with content ready.
What to gather before you start
- ✓Season schedule — Game dates, times and fields are the most visited information, so having them correct on day one matters most
- ✓Roster or player list — Names or jersey numbers that players are comfortable having public, with positions if you wish
- ✓Sponsor names and logos — Only businesses that have agreed to appear, with the version of the logo they prefer
- ✓Registration link or details — The tool or steps new players follow, including any dates or limits
- ✓Team photo — A recent group shot gives the site personality and helps new players picture themselves on the team
The first month after launch
Over the first month, update the schedule after every change and add results as games finish. Remind players and parents where the page lives so texts drop off. Ask your sponsors if they would like a short update, and refresh the join information before the next registration window opens.
Mistakes to avoid at launch
- ✓Burying the schedule in a PDF — players miss games because the file was hard to open
- ✓Offering no join path — new players give up and sign with another team
- ✓Skipping the sponsor page — local businesses feel unappreciated and stop supporting you
