A handyman’s site goes live fastest when you can list the jobs you want more of and have a few real photos of finished repairs. The pages come together around those two things.
How the launch unfolds
Day 1-2: You send your job list, area, photos and contact preferences, and we outline the home, services, area, gallery and request pages.
Week 1: We write the pages in plain terms, arrange your gallery and connect the request form to your phone or email.
Week 2: You review on a phone, we adjust job groupings and captions, and we test a sample request.
Launch: We publish, check every page on mobile and leave you with a short list for adding new photos.
What to gather before you start
- ✓A grouped list of the jobs you take — repairs, installs, assembly, painting and punch lists, written the way customers describe them
- ✓Photos of finished work — before-and-after pairs of a repaired deck, hung door or painted room show you finish what you start
- ✓Your service area — the towns and neighborhoods you will actually drive to
- ✓Any license or insurance details you want shown — written as you hold them, so visitors can see who they are inviting in
- ✓How you want requests to reach you — a form, a text line or both, and typical response time
The first month after launch
In the first month, add photos from every job you finish, even small ones, and keep the gallery fresh. Ask satisfied customers for a review on the platforms you already use, and update seasonal notes such as spring repairs or pre-holiday hosting fixes.
Mistakes to avoid at launch
- ✓Cramming every possible job into one paragraph — customers cannot scan it and assume you have no focus
- ✓Using stock photos of tools and work gloves — they make a handyman look like a lead-generation site, not a real person
- ✓Offering only a call button — after-hours visitors have no way to describe a job and may move on
One example of what your site could look like
This is one sample we designed. Yours is built around your business, your photos and your words, and we have more examples if you want to compare directions.
