A home inspector’s site is ready to launch once you have a redacted sample report and a clear description of what each inspection covers. Those two things carry most of the buyer’s decision.
How the launch unfolds
Day 1-2: You send your report sample, inspection types, area and booking method, and we outline the home, inspections, report, about and agents pages.
Week 1: We write and lay out the pages, prepare the sample report display and connect the booking form or link.
Week 2: You review on a phone, we revise wording and test the booking path from start to finish.
Launch: We publish and check mobile layout, then give you a short guide for updating availability during busy months.
What to gather before you start
- ✓A redacted sample report — it shows how you organize findings and is often the deciding factor
- ✓Descriptions of each inspection type — what is checked and what is outside the scope, in plain terms
- ✓Your credentials as you hold them — listed accurately, so buyers and agents know who is doing the work
- ✓Service area and typical turnaround — where you work and how quickly reports arrive
- ✓How agents and buyers book — your scheduling tool, form or call button preferences
The first month after launch
In the first month, update the agents page with your current turnaround and add notes on any new inspection types. Ask clients who were happy with their inspection for a review through the platforms you already use, and keep the booking path tested during busy buying months.
Mistakes to avoid at launch
- ✓Skipping the sample report — buyers cannot judge quality, so they default to whoever an agent mentioned first
- ✓Making scheduling a phone-only task — buyers browsing in the evening have no way to reserve a slot
- ✓Leaving out your credentials — visitors cannot tell whether you meet the standards they expect
