An interfaith organization’s site goes live once the founding statement, partner names and event details have all been read and approved by the people they describe. Visitors from different traditions are looking for evidence of respect, so accuracy matters more than polish.
How the launch unfolds
Day 1-2: you send the statement of purpose and your partner list, and we outline a home page that opens with a welcome and the next gathering
Week 1: we write the programs and get-involved pages, and each partner confirms its description before we place it
Week 2: the partners and contact pages are built, the inquiry form is tested, and your coordinators read every page for tone
Launch week: once every name and sentence has been approved, we connect your domain and publish
What to gather before you start
- ✓Statement of purpose — a short paragraph on why the group exists and what members agree to, reviewed by each partner
- ✓Partner descriptions in their own words — each congregation or organization supplies the name, spelling and one sentence it prefers
- ✓Event listings with context — shared meals, service days, dialogue evenings, with notes on dress, food and what to expect
- ✓Calendar sensitivity notes — holy days and observances that affect scheduling, so no event collides with one
- ✓Ways to take part — volunteer roles, speaking invitations, hosting a gathering and who answers questions
The first month after launch
During the first month, update the events list, add photos only from people who agreed, and invite each partner to confirm how it appears. Note upcoming observances on a shared calendar. Review the list of partners and spellings again at the end of the quarter so nothing drifts.
Mistakes to avoid at launch
- ✓Using one tradition’s vocabulary for everyone — partners feel the site speaks for them rather than with them
- ✓Posting photos of attendees without consent — it breaks trust with the very people the group wants to welcome
- ✓Scheduling events on a partner’s observance — the page announces a gathering some partners cannot attend
