People check a nonprofit website before they give, volunteer or refer someone. They are looking for signs that the organization is real and clear about its work. You decide how much to publish, but certain basics answer most of the questions a careful visitor has.
The basics
Say what you do in plain words on the homepage. Say who you serve and where. Explain your programs in a sentence or two each, and describe what a gift or volunteer hour makes possible.
Make contact simple: a form, and the details you are comfortable sharing publicly. Visitors who cannot find you tend to leave.
Pages most nonprofits need
- ✓About and mission — who you are and why
- ✓Programs — what you do and for whom
- ✓Get involved — give, volunteer, partner
- ✓Contact — how to reach you
Information you may choose to publish
Some organizations publish leadership names, board members, annual summaries or financial documents. This is your choice and your counsel’s or board’s decision. We place whatever you supply, but we do not invent figures or claim ratings.
If you share documents, label them clearly and keep older versions where visitors can see what changed. A short statement on how donations are used reassures many visitors.
Good habits for trust
- ✓Real photos — people and places you can show
- ✓Plain language — avoid jargon and acronyms
- ✓Dates — show when pages were last updated
- ✓Clear next step — give, volunteer or ask
Where we help
We write the copy from what you tell us, design for mobile screens and connect your donation or event tools. You approve every line and every page, so nothing goes up that you have not reviewed.
What to expect, honestly
- ✓We publish only what you supply — no invented figures
- ✓Legal and financial wording is yours — your board or counsel reviews it
- ✓We do not display ratings — unless you supply and verify them
