The idea of paying once and never again is appealing, especially if you have been burned by a bill that kept climbing. It is a fair thing to want. The truth is that a live website sits on a server that costs money every month, so a plan with no monthly charge is either paying for that another way or leaving the service out.
Where the money goes
Hosting keeps your pages online. An HTTPS certificate keeps the padlock showing. Backups protect you if something breaks. Uptime checks tell someone when the site is down, and someone has to keep the software current. Each of those is ongoing work.
When you see no monthly fee, ask where each of them went. Sometimes they are bundled into a higher upfront price. Sometimes the host places ads on your site, limits features, or charges later for the domain, the email or the ability to remove their branding.
What to ask any no-fee offer
- ✓Who owns the domain — and what happens if you leave
- ✓What are the limits — pages, storage, forms, speed
- ✓Are there ads or branding — placed on your pages
- ✓Is a backup included — and who restores it
- ✓What changes after year one — renewal prices and extras
What Website Care at $30/month covers
Website Care is $30/month. It includes managed hosting, HTTPS, backups, uptime checks, weekly performance checks, A/B testing and up to 30 minutes of small edits per month. That is the full list. It replaces the tasks you would otherwise have to do or pay someone to do.
The build itself is a one-time fee, starting at $399 for the Launch Website with up to 5 pages. You own the domain, and the build price is not paid again.
Questions that settle the decision
- ✓Do I want to maintain it myself — updates, backups and fixes
- ✓What is an hour of my time worth — DIY is not free
- ✓How much would a day offline cost — peace of mind has value
- ✓Do I make small edits often — included time helps
What to expect, honestly
- ✓Hosting is a recurring service — we do not offer a hosting free plan
- ✓The monthly plan is part of the offer — the build and Care go together
- ✓Domain registration is separate — it is paid to a registrar
