The situation

A business-loan information website we run had grown fast, to thousands of pages, but its structure had not kept up. Different pages said different things about the same facts, such as how many states funding was available in and what credit score was needed. Important topics were spread across many similar pages instead of one clear hub. Google was showing the site, but rarely.

This is the same problem many small business websites have after a few years: pages added one at a time by different people, old facts nobody updated, and no clear path from a question to the page that answers it.

What we did

  • Fixed every conflicting fact. We searched all pages for the facts that mattered to a visitor and made them say the same, correct thing everywhere. One footer error alone was on 387 pages.
  • Built hubs. Each major topic got one hub page that explains it and links to every detail page underneath, so both people and search engines can see how the site fits together.
  • Wrote the money pages. The pages closest to a decision, such as requirements, costs and how the process works, were rewritten to answer the question in the first paragraph.
  • Grouped topics into sections. Related pages were organized into clear sections with consistent addresses and links between siblings.
  • Made it readable for AI. Updated sitemaps, schema and an llms.txt file that tells AI assistants what the site covers.

The results

8xmore Google impressions in 11 days of October than all of late September
7,813impressions, October 1 to 11
18Google clicks in the same 11 days, up from 7
7,433pages, all with consistent facts

In the first 11 days of October the site earned 7,813 Google impressions, eight times its total for the second half of September, and clicks more than doubled. AI crawlers read the site about 9,100 times in the week to October 12.

The pages did not get longer for the sake of it. They got consistent, organized and easier to understand, which is what search engines reward.

What this means for your business

If your website has been patched together over the years, more pages are not always the answer. Often the faster win is cleaning up what is there: one correct version of each fact, one clear page for each service, and links that show how it all fits. We do this when we rebuild or take over a website, and Website Care keeps it that way with weekly checks.

Is your website patched together? We can rebuild it properly.

How we would do this for your business

  1. Consultation. A one-on-one call about your services, customers, area and goals. We ask what customers ask you most.
  2. Plan. We map one page for each service, each area you serve and each common question, and check what your competitors already cover.
  3. Write and design. We write every word for you, answer first, and design a fast, mobile-friendly site. You get 10 revision rounds.
  4. Technical setup. Sitemap, schema, llms.txt, AI crawler access and search engine submission on launch day.
  5. Keep it right. Website Care ($30/month) covers hosting, HTTPS, backups and weekly checks. Optional Monthly SEO adds new pages every month.

A small business website does not need thousands of pages to benefit from this approach. The same rules apply at any size: correct facts everywhere, one clear page per topic, and a site machines can read.

Sources and method

  1. Google Search Console, Search Analytics API (impressions and clicks by date, page and query), pulled October 12, 2026.
  2. Cloudflare request analytics, 7 days to October 12, 2026. The website is not named. Results from our own websites are not a promise of results for yours.
