The situation
We set out to launch four new websites in September 2026, each for business owners in one place: New York, Texas, California and one national site. New domains have no history with Google. They start from zero, and most new sites take months to be shown for anything.
The goal was to get each one found quickly by doing the basics properly from day one, then adding useful local pages every week.
What we built
- City and region pages for each state's main business areas, each written for that place rather than copied with the city name swapped.
- Industry pages for the industries that matter in that state.
- A clear homepage built from an approved design, with one obvious next step.
- Technical setup on launch day: sitemaps submitted to Google, IndexNow pings to Bing and others, schema on every page, an llms.txt file, and AI crawlers allowed through the firewall.
- Weekly additions. New pages added as we learned which topics Google was showing.
| Website | Pages | Google impressions, 28 days | Clicks |
|---|---|---|---|
| New York site | 1,064 | 1,222 | 2 |
| California site | 1,011 | 659 | 2 |
| Texas site | 1,472 | 320 | 1 |
| National site | 179 | 122 | 1 |
| Total | 3,726 | 2,323 | 6 |
The results
Within weeks of launch, all four websites were appearing in Google, with 2,323 impressions combined over the 28 days to October 11. The New York site grew fastest: 746 impressions in the first 11 days of October, more than in the whole second half of September.
AI crawlers and AI search bots read all four every day. Clicks are still small, which is normal at this stage. New sites earn impressions first, then positions improve and clicks follow.
What we learned
- The site with the most distinct local pages (Texas) was not the fastest. The New York site, with fewer but more specific pages, grew faster. Quality and specificity beat count.
- The national site, with the fewest pages, earned the least. A site needs enough useful pages to be found for more than its name.
- Doing the technical setup on day one meant Google started showing pages within days, not months.
What this means for your business
A new business website does not have to wait half a year to be found. Launch with the basics right, a sitemap, schema, AI access and a clear page for each service and area you serve, then keep adding useful pages. That is how every Cheap Cheap Websites launch is set up, and Monthly SEO adds the weekly pages.
How we would do this for your business
- Consultation. A one-on-one call about your services, customers, area and goals. We ask what customers ask you most.
- Plan. We map one page for each service, each area you serve and each common question, and check what your competitors already cover.
- Write and design. We write every word for you, answer first, and design a fast, mobile-friendly site. You get 10 revision rounds.
- Technical setup. Sitemap, schema, llms.txt, AI crawler access and search engine submission on launch day.
- Keep it right. Website Care ($30/month) covers hosting, HTTPS, backups and weekly checks. Optional Monthly SEO adds new pages every month.
A new local business does not need thousands of pages to benefit from this approach. The same rules apply at any size: correct facts everywhere, one clear page per topic, and a site machines can read.
Sources and method
- Google Search Console, Search Analytics API (impressions and clicks by date, page and query), pulled October 12, 2026.
- Page counts from each website's live XML sitemap, October 12, 2026. Websites are not named. Results from our own websites are not a promise of results for yours.
