Picture the inquiry that arrives at 11 p.m.: a bride, a date in May, a package she likes. You say yes, she says she will pay "soon", and two weeks later another planner asks for the same Saturday. A deposit is the small, clear step that turns a nice chat into a date nobody else can take.
When a deposit makes sense for a booth company
Your booth, props and attendant are committed to one time slot, and you cannot rent them twice. That is the whole case for a deposit. It tells the host that the date is now theirs and tells you it is safe to turn the next inquiry away.
Some owners ask for a deposit on every booking. Others only ask for weddings and graduation parties, and let a small office event reserve with a short form. Either works; what matters is that the website says which one it is, so nobody feels surprised.
What the booking path looks like
- ✓A date check on the home page — the visitor types the event date before reading anything else
- ✓A package choice — with the number of hours, prints and props written plainly
- ✓A short request form — venue, start time, guest count and a note
- ✓A deposit step — sent through the tool you already use, or through Square if you want one set up
Where the money goes and who sets the rules
We connect the payment tool you use today, or help you set up Square for deposits. The processor handles the card and charges its own fees, which are between you and that provider. Your site simply shows the deposit amount you choose and the next step after paying.
The refund and reschedule wording is yours. We give you a plain policy page and place a short summary right beside the pay button, but we do not write legal terms for you and we cannot say what your local rules require.
Questions to settle before launch
- ✓Is the deposit a flat amount or a share of the package — either is fine, just say it once
- ✓What happens if the host moves the date — your own call, written in one sentence
- ✓Does the deposit come off the final balance — most hosts expect that, so say so
- ✓How do you handle two requests for one date — first paid deposit wins is the easiest rule to explain
What to expect, honestly
- ✓We do not manage your calendar for you — a deposit blocks the date only when you mark it on your own calendar
- ✓We cannot connect every scheduling tool — tell us what you use and we will say honestly what works
- ✓We do not promise payment tool features — the provider controls its own fees and rules
