GoDaddy is one of the best known names in domains, so its website builder is often the first thing a new owner sees after buying a web address. The product has changed a lot. Today it is built around Airo, an AI assistant that turns a plain description of your business into pages you can then refine.
What the builder is today
You describe your business in ordinary words and the builder lays out pages, sections, starter copy and images. From there you adjust layout, tone and visuals yourself or ask the AI to do it in conversation. GoDaddy says hosting, an SSL certificate, forms and analytics are built in, that you can connect a custom domain to a published project, and that you can export your code. It also describes built-in SEO tools, design tools for logos and social graphics, and an online store option that takes payments through GoDaddy Payments.
Pricing is plan-based and runs on AI credits. GoDaddy says you can start free with a monthly credit allowance, that each plan includes credits, and that unused credits do not carry over to the next billing cycle. Check the current plans on their page before you commit.
What it does well
- ✓Speed to a first draft — a working preview appears within minutes of describing your business
- ✓Everything in one account — domain, hosting and site sit together, which is simpler for many owners
- ✓Conversational edits — you can ask for changes in plain language instead of learning an editor
- ✓Room to grow — GoDaddy lists stores, appointment scheduling, blogs and event pages as options
What you still do yourself
A fast draft is not a finished site. The starter copy is written from what you typed, so it can only be as specific as your prompt. Your prices, your service area, the jobs you turn down and the questions customers ask on the first call all have to come from you. Someone also has to test the form and pick photos of your real business.
With a DIY builder, upkeep is also your job. If you enjoy that work, it is a fair trade.
Three different ways to get a GoDaddy-style result
- ✓Do it yourself — the Website Builder, where you write, arrange and maintain everything
- ✓Hire GoDaddy’s team — GoDaddy Website Design Services, where its experts design and build a custom site for you on WordPress
- ✓Hire a managed service — an outside team that builds the site and keeps handling hosting and edits after launch
- ✓Mix and match — keep your domain at GoDaddy and point it at a site built elsewhere
Where we come in, and where we do not
We are the third option on that list. We build and manage the whole website: domain setup in your name, hosting, design, copy written for you and care after launch. The Launch Website is $399 for up to 5 pages with ten revision rounds, and Website Care at $30/month covers managed hosting, HTTPS, backups, uptime checks and up to 30 minutes of small edits each month. Monthly SEO is an optional add-on, with no ranking promises.
We do not work inside the GoDaddy builder. If your domain already lives at GoDaddy, it can stay there, and we point it to the new site once you approve it.
Our verdict
GoDaddy Website Builder is a reasonable pick for an owner who wants to try things quickly, enjoys tinkering and is happy to own the upkeep. If you would rather answer questions than write pages, look at either GoDaddy’s own design service or a managed service like ours, and compare scope, revisions and what happens after launch.

What to expect, honestly
- ✓We are not GoDaddy — for current features and plans, read GoDaddy’s own pages
- ✓We do not edit inside the GoDaddy builder — we build a new site on our managed hosting
- ✓A DIY site can be the right answer — especially for a simple first page while you test an idea
One example of what your site could look like
This is one sample we designed. Yours is built around your business, your photos and your words, and we have more examples if you want to compare directions.
What it costs
Websites are priced one-time by size, plus Website Care at $30/month for hosting, HTTPS, backups, weekly checks and A/B testing. Every package includes a consultation, mobile-friendly design, copy we write for you, a contact form, essential search setup and 10 revision rounds. Monthly SEO is an optional add-on when you are ready for it.
Optional add-ons, billed separately
The prices above are for your website. These two are separate monthly products you can add now or later. Neither is part of the website price.
Monthly SEO, from $50/month: new pages published on your site every month. See Monthly SEO →
Business Spotlight, from $30/month: articles about your business, labeled as paid, published on The Company Chronicle. See Business Spotlight →
