You typed your business name into Google and found nothing, or only a directory listing. Before you assume something is broken, know that new sites can take a while to appear, and that appearing is not the same as ranking well. The first step is simply finding out what Google knows about you today.
Indexed versus ranking
Being indexed means Google has found your page and stored it. Ranking is where it sits among results for a given search. A site can be indexed and still appear far down for general phrases, especially in a competitive town.
To check indexing, search your own domain name with the word site: in front of it. If pages appear, you are indexed. If nothing does, the cause is usually one of a short list: the site is brand new, search engines are being told to stay away, or the pages are unreachable.
The basics checklist
- ✓Is the site blocked from search — a leftover setting can tell crawlers to ignore everything
- ✓Does your business name appear on the home page — plainly, in text rather than only in an image
- ✓Do you have a page for each service — so each search has something to match
- ✓Is your address and service area written out — cities and neighborhoods in real sentences
- ✓Does the site load properly on a small screen — slow or broken pages are skipped
What we set up and what takes time
Every package includes essential search setup: page titles, descriptions, clean structure and the pieces that let search engines read the site. We also help you submit the site so it is discovered sooner.
After that, visibility grows from having clear pages, a real service area and time. Monthly SEO is an optional add-on if you want ongoing work on content and local presence. We never guarantee a ranking or a position, because nobody outside Google can.
Things you can do yourself this week
- ✓Claim your business profile listing — fill every field and keep it consistent with your site
- ✓Use the same name, address and contact details everywhere — mismatches confuse people and search tools
- ✓Ask for links from places you already work with — a supplier, a partner, a local group
- ✓Add real service pages — one clear page beats a list of keywords
What to expect, honestly
- ✓No ranking promises — position depends on competition and Google
- ✓New sites need time — discovery is not instant
- ✓We cannot fix other sites’ listings — directory entries are yours to maintain
