Booking a tattoo is not like booking a haircut. The client has an idea, a placement, a size and sometimes a deadline, and the artist needs those facts before saying yes. When all of that arrives as a scatter of messages, nobody wins. A request form on your site collects it once and routes it to the right artist.
Two kinds of appointment
There are usually two bookings in a tattoo studio: the consult, and the session itself. The consult can be a quick time slot online. The session is often scheduled by the artist after they have seen the request and agreed on the work.
That is why this page leans on a structured request rather than an instant calendar for the big pieces, while small flash or walk-in slots can use direct booking if you offer them.
What the request form should ask
- ✓Idea and reference images — so the artist can see what the client means
- ✓Placement and size — approximate, in plain words
- ✓Preferred artist or style — or "not sure, help me choose"
- ✓Timing and flexibility — a date for an event or open to any slot
Artists, not just a studio
Clients choose a person, so each artist gets a page with a gallery of their own work, the styles they enjoy and their booking status. A visitor who loves fine-line floral should not have to dig through traditional pieces to find who does it.
Books open and closed notes help too. If an artist is full until a certain month, say it on their page, which saves wasted requests and sets honest expectations.
What we need from you
- ✓Artist list and photos — a few strong healed pieces each
- ✓Style descriptions — a sentence per artist in their own words
- ✓Booking tool or Square — for consult slots and deposits
- ✓Aftercare and policy text — your own wording on healing and rescheduling
Busy periods
Summer and the holidays bring more requests, and convention weekends or flash days need dates up front. Put those on the home page and the artist pages so people see them before they ask.
What to expect, honestly
- ✓We do not set your deposit rules — you choose them, we place them clearly
- ✓We do not give healing or medical advice — aftercare text is yours
- ✓Payment fees come from the provider — Square and similar tools charge their own rates
