When someone has a leaking pipe or a car that will not start, they do not want to read your About page. They want to reach a person. A click-to-call button turns your business number into a link, so on a handset a single tap opens the dialer with your number already filled in.
How a tap-to-dial link actually works
Behind the button is a normal web link that starts with "tel:" followed by your number. On a mobile device, it recognizes it and offers to place the call. On a laptop, nothing useful happens by default, so we show the number as plain readable text next to the button as well.
The button is not an app and needs nothing installed. It also does not route calls through us. It dials the same number you already answer, so your voicemail, forwarding and business hours stay exactly as you manage them today.
Where we place it
- ✓The top of every page — a sticky bar so the button is visible without scrolling
- ✓Right under your headline — for the visitor who decided before reading anything else
- ✓The contact page — with your hours written out next to it
- ✓The footer — a last chance after someone has read your services
What we set up for you
We write the button label in plain words, something like "Call the shop" rather than a vague "Contact". We size it so a thumb can hit it without zooming, and we check it on a real handset before we call the page finished.
We also add a contact form beside it, because some visitors will not call at night or at work. The form and the button sit side by side so nobody hits a dead end.
What to prepare
- ✓The number you want customers to dial — a mobile, a landline or a forwarding line
- ✓Your hours — including after-hours behavior, such as voicemail only
- ✓The areas you serve — so the page says where you actually go
- ✓A short line about who answers — owner, front desk or answering service
What to expect, honestly
- ✓We do not staff your line — the button only dials the number you give us
- ✓We cannot promise emergency response — your own availability decides that
- ✓Call tracking is not included by default — tell us if you use a separate tracking number
