Summer camp decisions are made in the coldest months. A parent has a calendar open, three camps in tabs and a question about each: what does a day look like, who is watching my child, how much does the week cost and when does it fill? The camp that answers all four first usually gets the registration.
Lead with the session grid
A session grid shows each week or session with dates, ages and themes. Parents scan it for the weeks they need. Mark full sessions clearly and offer a waitlist note, because families often have flexible weeks and will switch.
Registration runs through a form or tool you already use, which holds the child’s details, medical notes and payment. We keep that away from the public page and link to it where families are ready to enter it.
What parents look for first
- ✓Ages and groups — how children are grouped
- ✓Drop-off and pick-up times — including any extended care
- ✓A sample day — from arrival to departure
- ✓Staff and supervision — ratios and training, as you can state them
- ✓What to bring — lunch, swimsuit, sunscreen and so on
Safety and policy pages families read carefully
Parents read policies closely. Write down your arrival and release process, how you handle allergies and medication, your weather plan and your illness policy in plain language. Do not copy another camp’s policy; use yours, and have a staff member who knows the details review it.
Do not publish photos that identify children without written permission, and keep names off the public page. Show the grounds, the activities and staff instead.
Pages to build
- ✓Sessions and dates — grid with a register button
- ✓A day at camp — schedule and activities
- ✓Safety and policies — arrival, health and weather
- ✓Staff — who runs the programs
- ✓Registration — form or link, plus contact
What to expect, honestly
- ✓Registration data stays in your own system — we link it
- ✓Health forms are sensitive — we keep them off public pages
- ✓No promises about spots — the page shows what you publish
