A homeowner remodeling three rooms usually has three different answers: hardwood in the living area, tile in the bath, luxury vinyl in the basement. A single message box cannot hold that, and what you get back is "need flooring, call me". A form that handles rooms one at a time fixes this.
Think in rooms, not in jobs
Let the visitor add each room with a size guess, a current floor type and the floor they want. "Living room, about 15 by 20, carpet now, hardwood wanted" is a complete line item. Three of those and you can already give a range.
For people who do not know square footage, ask for room dimensions or "small, medium, large". It is not exact, but it separates a closet from a great room.
What the form should capture
- ✓Rooms and approximate size — one entry per room
- ✓Current floor — carpet, tile, wood, laminate
- ✓Desired material — or a request for advice
- ✓Is old flooring being removed — and is furniture being moved
- ✓Timeline — before a move, a sale or a holiday
Material questions without catalogs
Many buyers are not sure about material. A short "need advice" option routes them to a showroom visit or a call-back and keeps them from abandoning the form. You can list the materials you install in a one-line hint under the field.
If your business works from samples, say so on the confirmation: "we bring samples to your home". That is a promise to a visitor that quote and selection can happen together.
Before you go live
- ✓Test with three rooms — make sure the entries arrive intact
- ✓Add your service towns — below the button
- ✓Show finished rooms — next to the form
- ✓Reply with a date — offer two measure slots
Subfloor and surprises
Experienced installers know the price changes once boards come up. Include a gentle line on the confirmation that final pricing depends on subfloor condition. A field for "known issues, such as squeaks or water damage" helps you plan before you arrive.
What to expect, honestly
- ✓We do not price by the square foot — you quote after measuring
- ✓Photo uploads are scoped separately — useful for subfloor or damage
- ✓Product catalogs are separate — we can add a simple materials page instead
