What an llms.txt file is
An llms.txt file is a short plain-text file placed at the root of a website, at an address like example.com/llms.txt. It is a proposed convention: a curated index that tells AI tools and the people building them, in a few lines, what the site is about and which pages matter most. Think of it as a tidy reception desk note rather than a sales brochure.
It is optional. Some AI tools may read it and many may not, and having one does not guarantee that any assistant will mention, recommend or describe your business. What it can do is give anything that does read it a clean, accurate summary instead of leaving it to piece one together from menus and footers.

Who it is for and how to use it
This generator is for small business owners who already have a website and want a neat, factual llms.txt without learning the format. Write the description the way you would explain your business to a new neighbour: what you do, for whom and where. Then list your services in the words customers actually use.
Under Key pages, add the handful of pages that answer the questions people ask most: services, prices or menu if you publish them, service area, booking and contact. Five to ten pages is plenty. Leave out pages that would confuse a newcomer, like old promotions or thank-you pages.
When the messages are clear, download the file and upload it to the top folder of your site, so it opens at your domain followed by /llms.txt. Whoever manages your hosting can do that in a couple of minutes.
Keep it a curated index, not an ad
The generator flags promotional words because they make the file less useful.
- Facts over claims. State what you do and where. Words like "best", "number one" or "cheapest" are opinions that a reader cannot check, so they add nothing.
- Match your website. Everything in the file should also be true on the pages it links to. If your hours or services change, update both.
- Short beats complete. A focused list of key pages is easier to use than every page on the site. Your sitemap already does the job of listing everything.
- Plain Markdown. The format is simple Markdown: a title, a one-line summary, and short lists of links. The generator handles the formatting for you.
Limits worth knowing
- There is no official standard that every AI tool follows, and support varies and changes over time.
- The file does not replace clear pages, accurate listings or a sitemap; it points to them.
- This tool does not check that your links work. Open each one before you upload the file.
