Your free 5-page website
The next book sale or event, a short line on how you support the library and a Join button.
Dates, hours, location, what is sold, payment methods and how to donate books.
Who can join, dues, benefits and a link to the form you already use.
Shifts for sorting, setup and the sale, with a sign-up link and what to expect.
What your funds paid for, how the board works and a contact form.
What your community looks for
Most visitors want one thing: the next book sale. Many others want to donate books, join or sign up for a shift. Make each of those a clear button.
- Show the sale dates, hours and location at the top of the page.
- Say which books you accept and which you cannot take.
- Explain where donated books should be dropped off and when.
- Show what your fundraising has bought for the library, in words.
Library staff and neighbors alike trust a page that is current and calm.
What you get free, and what the $30 covers
The build is free for friends of the library groups. It is the same build as our Launch Website, which normally costs $399 one-time: up to 5 pages, designed for you, words drafted from a short consultation, mobile-friendly layout and 10 revision rounds.
The only cost is Website Care at $30/month. It covers hosting, HTTPS (the padlock in the browser), backups, weekly checks, A/B testing and small edits. Recurring plans can be canceled anytime.
Membership forms, volunteer shifts and donations often live in tools you already use. We add buttons and links to them, and we do not promise any specific integration.
If you need more than 5 pages, we quote it before any work starts. A Monthly SEO add-on from $50/month adds new pages each month, but it is never required.
How people find your book sale on Google and in AI assistants
Each site gets clear page titles and descriptions, headings matched to searches, structured data (schema), an XML sitemap, fast mobile pages, and your location and dates written consistently.
People type searches like:
- library book sale this weekend
- where to donate used books near me
- friends of the library membership
- volunteer at the library book sale
Clear answers on your pages give Google and AI assistants a source to quote. No rankings or traffic are promised. Read the nonprofit website checklist for the basics.

Tell us about your group. A real person reviews it and gets back to you, usually within one business day.
Must-haves and pitfalls for library friends sites
Keep your group clearly separate from the library itself. Say you are the friends group, and link out to the library for card, hours and catalog questions.
- Do not imply the library runs your sale if it does not.
- State plainly what you will not accept, such as damaged books or old textbooks.
- Update sale dates the moment they pass.
- Keep member lists private.
Related groups, like literacy and tutoring programs, often share the same audience.
How to get started
- Fill in the short form on this page.
- A real person reviews it and confirms you are a nonprofit or community group.
- We hold a consultation about your sale calendar, your membership and your volunteer shifts.
- We write the draft site.
- You review it and ask for changes, up to 10 rounds.
- You launch. Small eligible projects can go live in as little as 48 hours.
We work with real people in English and Spanish (se habla espanol). See how it works for the full picture, or browse the free nonprofit websites hub.
