A CSA site needs to be live before sign-ups begin, so the target date should be set from the first day of your season. Start with your share options and a clear deadline.
How the launch unfolds
Day 1-2: You send share options, pickup sites and the sign-up link, and we place the sign-up button where visitors see it first.
Week 1: We build the shares, sample box and FAQ pages so questions are answered before anyone emails.
Week 2: You review pickup details and test the sign-up path on a phone.
Launch: The site goes live ahead of sign-up season, and a 48-hour launch is possible for eligible projects with content ready.
What to gather before you start
- ✓Share descriptions — What is included, how large each share is and how long the season runs, written plainly.
- ✓Pickup details — Days, times and addresses for every site, plus rules for missed pickups.
- ✓Sample box photos — A real weekly box shows first-timers what they are buying.
- ✓Sign-up method — The form or payment link members will use, tested before launch.
- ✓Farm story — A short note about who grows the food and how they farm.
The first month after launch
Once sign-ups open, check the sign-up path with a real test entry and watch for questions you keep answering by email, then add those answers to the FAQ. Post fresh box photos as the season begins and update pickup notes when anything changes. Share the site link in your usual newsletter and at the market.
Mistakes to avoid at launch
- ✓Hiding the sign-up deadline — late visitors assume sign-up is closed and leave
- ✓Skipping pickup rules — confusion about missed weeks fills your inbox
- ✓Using only vegetable photos from last year — members cannot tell if the farm is still active
