Seeing your visitor count go up while the inbox stays quiet is a very particular kind of discouraging. The fix is rarely a total redesign. It is usually one of four separate problems, and each one has a different remedy, so guessing at changes can waste weeks. We start by working out which one you actually have.
The four problems that look the same
First is traffic fit: people are arriving who were never going to hire you, perhaps from a search that only loosely matches what you do. Second is the offer: they land in the right place but cannot quickly tell what you do, where you work or whether you suit them. Third is the ask: the next step is unclear or too heavy. Fourth is the machinery: the form or button is not working properly.
It is worth testing the last one yourself first. Submit your own form from a mobile device and see whether the message arrives, and how long it takes.
A quick self-check
- ✓Open the site on a mobile device — does the first screen say what you do and where
- ✓Find the contact method — can you reach it in one tap without scrolling hunt
- ✓Send a test message — confirm it lands in the right inbox, not spam
- ✓Read the top page as a stranger — would you know what to do next
- ✓Look at which pages people enter on — it shows who is really arriving
What we change and what we will not promise
Once we know the cause we can rewrite the opening of the page, simplify the form, add a clearer service list, put the contact action higher and make sure messages reach you. For a site we are not building from scratch, we may recommend rebuilding the weak pages onto our managed hosting.
We cannot promise a specific number of inquiries. Fixing a broken or confusing step removes obstacles; it does not create demand. If the visitors are the wrong people, the answer may be about how you are found rather than what the page says.
What to tell us
- ✓Your address — so we can see exactly what visitors see
- ✓Where traffic comes from if you know — search, social, a printed card
- ✓When inquiries last came in — it can point to a change or a failure
- ✓What an ideal inquiry looks like — the job size and location you want
What to expect, honestly
- ✓We do not guarantee inquiry numbers — demand depends on your market
- ✓Wrong audience is a visibility problem — that is a separate piece of work
- ✓We cannot see your private analytics — you share what you are comfortable sharing
