A friend says, "Come try it", and the person searches for your gym that evening. She sees a schedule with times and abbreviations, but nothing that says how someone who has never done a clean and jerk begins. The site has to hold her hand for about thirty seconds, and then the coaches do the rest in person.
Treat the on-ramp as the main door
Whatever you call it, the intro program is how new members arrive. Give it its own page that says how many sessions it includes, what happens in each one and how it leads into regular classes. Say that movements are scaled so a newcomer reads the room correctly.
From the home page, the first button should lead to the on-ramp, not the full membership table.
Fields for the daily timetable
- ✓Class time and name — the usual daily slots
- ✓Coach — so members can choose who they like
- ✓Open gym and specialty hours — listed separately from classes
- ✓Competition or teams classes — marked so beginners do not drop into them
- ✓Drop-in availability — stated per class
The Open season and other busy periods
Interest rises in January and after the Open. A short banner on the home page, such as a note on a beginner cohort starting, ties the site to what is happening in the gym that month. It should be easy for you to swap once the cohort starts.
Between those peaks the site works quietly, answering questions at the hours the front desk is closed.
Coach pages that build trust
- ✓A real photo — not a stock athlete
- ✓Background in plain words — how they came to coach
- ✓What they like teaching
- ✓Coaching focus — strength, mobility, kids or competition
Booking and tracking
Members sign up for classes in the app or tool you already use. The site links to it and explains how new people reach the first booking, without trying to replace the system your coaches rely on.
What to expect, honestly
- ✓Workout programming stays elsewhere — we do not host daily workouts or leaderboards
- ✓Booking tool is yours — we link, not replace
- ✓No fitness results claims — we skip before and after promises
