Barbecue does not behave like other restaurants. The meat is smoked on a schedule, it sells until the pit is empty, and the busiest customers want it by the pound for a crowd. A website for a barbecue place has to reflect that: how things are sold, when they are available and what happens when the brisket is gone.
Honest sell-out notes build trust
Customers who drive across town and find the ribs sold out remember it. A short note on the site, "Brisket usually sells out by 2 p.m. on weekends," tells people what to expect and sends them in earlier. It also gives you a reason to offer pre-orders for the items that go first.
Because your register and website are not linked, we do not show live stock. We write the note in your words and update it when your pattern changes.
Menu structure for smoked meat
- ✓Meats by the pound and half pound — brisket, ribs, pulled pork, sausage
- ✓Plates and sandwiches — with sides included, stated plainly
- ✓Sides by the pint and quart — for taking home
- ✓Trays and family packs — sizes and who they feed
Catering and the smoker’s calendar
Barbecue catering is booked by date, and the smoker has a limit. A catering page with tray sizes, a request form and a stated lead time sets expectations on both sides. Holiday weekends and cookouts fill early, so showing the dates you are already full is useful.
The regular order button opens the tool you already use for takeout. Catering requests go to a form you confirm. Any fees charged by an ordering provider belong to that provider.
What we will ask for
- ✓A menu with units and portions — pounds, plates, trays
- ✓Your sell-out pattern — roughly when items run out
- ✓Catering lead time and minimums — in days and people
- ✓Your order link — and your pickup instructions
What to expect, honestly
- ✓We do not show live stock — sell-out notes are written by hand
- ✓We do not run your smoker schedule — the site only informs
- ✓We do not process orders on our site — your tool does
