Tree work is the rare service where a customer may be calm in March and frightened in July. A form needs to hold both. Someone planning a removal wants to compare estimates. Someone with a limb on a car wants a human right now, and a long form feels like a slap.
Urgent gets a short path
At the top, two buttons: "Planned work" and "Storm damage or emergency". The emergency path asks for address, a one-line description, whether anyone is at risk or a structure is damaged, and the best contact. Four fields. Nothing else.
Planned work gets the full set: number of trees, approximate height, work type (trim, removal, stump), access, and timing. Photo upload is scoped separately, though the confirmation can invite pictures.
Fields for planned tree work
- ✓Work needed — trimming, removal, stump grinding, cleanup
- ✓Number and size of trees — small, medium, tall
- ✓Location on the property — near house, wires, fence
- ✓Access — gate width, backyard only
- ✓Timing — flexible or by a date
What to say about insurance and safety
Homeowners worry about what happens if something goes wrong. If you carry insurance, say so in plain words on the page, and keep the statement accurate and current. We format what you give us and never invent credentials.
Requests arrive in your email with spam filtered. The emergency path can be flagged so it stands out.
Keep the emergency path honest
- ✓Say what you can do — not every call is a same-day job
- ✓Check mail during storms — the form is only useful if read
- ✓Offer a safe-distance note — stay away from downed lines
- ✓Pause the banner — when the surge passes
Storm season rhythm
Calls cluster after severe weather and again in fall cleanup. Put a banner on the home page during storm weeks, update the confirmation with realistic response times, and turn it off when it passes. An honest "we are working through a backlog" retains trust.
What to expect, honestly
- ✓We do not handle dispatch — requests arrive by email
- ✓Photo uploads are scoped separately — ask about them
- ✓Utility or municipal rules are yours — we do not interpret them
