A community arts organization does several jobs at once: it presents performances or exhibitions, teaches classes and asks for support. On a site, those three jobs fight for the same space. The solution is usually a front page that shows the season first, with classes and giving as clear, separate doors, and a calendar that does not need zooming on a small screen.
A calendar that survives a small screen
Many arts sites post a season brochure as an image or a PDF. On a small screen it is unreadable. We build the season as a simple list: date, title, place, price and a ticket button. Past events move to an archive so the current page feels alive.
Ticket buttons link to the ticketing tool you already use. We do not process tickets ourselves, and your provider’s fees apply. For free events, an RSVP form can sit in the same place.
What each event listing carries
- ✓Date and time — with the doors-open time if it differs
- ✓Venue and access — parking, seating and any accessibility notes you can state
- ✓Ticket price — or "free" and how to reserve
- ✓Short description — one paragraph in plain words
- ✓Photo or illustration — with a caption saying what it shows
Why monthly gifts suit the arts
Ticket sales rarely cover everything. Supporters often prefer a small monthly gift to a single large one, and arts audiences are used to the idea of a "friend" level. Explain what a monthly gift supports in a way that is true for your organization, such as costume materials, class scholarships or venue costs.
Sponsors need their own page, with levels you define and a way to reach a person. Business owners often decide quickly if the page is clear and they can see where their name would appear.
Pages to build
- ✓Season — events with dates and ticket links
- ✓Classes — programs, ages and sign-up
- ✓Support — monthly gifts, sponsors and donors
- ✓About — mission, staff and board
- ✓Contact — a short form for general questions
What to expect, honestly
- ✓Ticketing and class registration run on your provider — we link them
- ✓Photos need permission — especially those of students
- ✓No promises about sales or donations — the site is a clear path
