A homeowner looking for a recurring cleaner and a property manager looking for an evening crew are both scanning for the same three things: do you come to my area, do you do the kind of cleaning I need, and how do I get a number. If the site makes them hunt, they go back to the results and tap the next company. Here is where cleaning websites usually leak.
Mistake one: one blurry "we clean everything" page
A single page that lists house cleaning, offices, move-outs, post-construction and carpets in one paragraph tells nobody that you are the right fit. A family wanting a standing every-other-week visit and a dental office wanting nightly service need different reassurance, different questions and different next steps.
The fix is to split residential and commercial into their own pages, each with who it is for, what a visit covers, how often it can repeat and what you need to know before quoting. Keep the home page as a signpost to those two doors.
Where cleaning sites most often lose the quote request
- ✓Service area left vague — name the towns and neighborhoods you actually drive to, not just a county
- ✓Quote form with one box — ask for property type, size, bedrooms and bathrooms, frequency and preferred start
- ✓Scope hidden — say what a standard visit includes and what counts as an extra such as inside the oven or fridge
- ✓Recurring and one-time mixed together — separate them so repeat customers see how a standing schedule works
- ✓Pets, keys and access ignored — a short note on how entry and pets are handled removes a common worry
Mistake two: a quote form that creates more back-and-forth
Cleaners know that a price depends on square footage, condition, number of bathrooms and how often. A form that only asks for a name and message means your first reply is a list of questions, and some people never answer it. Put the questions you always ask on the form itself, with simple dropdowns, so the request arrives ready to price.
Add one optional field for photos or notes, and make it clear whether you quote from the form or after a short walkthrough. Say which one honestly; a commercial space usually needs a look, a two-bedroom apartment often does not.
Mistake three: photos that do not show your work
Stock images of smiling people in rubber gloves look like every other site. If you have real before and after shots, a clean truck and crew in uniform, use those, with the owner’s permission when a home is visible. If you have none yet, plain well-lit photos of finished rooms taken on your next few jobs are enough.
What to expect, honestly
- ✓We write the wording from your details — you confirm service areas and what a visit includes
- ✓We connect the form to your inbox — we do not run scheduling or payroll software
- ✓Insurance and bonding claims stay yours — we only publish what you supply and can document
