Describing a problem in words takes several back-and-forth messages. One clear photo often settles it. Adding an upload field to your estimate form lets customers show you the job, and you spend less time driving out only to learn it is not the work you do.
How the upload works
The customer opens your quote form, fills in their name and the basics, and taps the photo field. On a mobile browser that offers the camera or photo library directly. They pick a few images, submit, and you receive the request with the pictures attached or linked.
We set a sensible limit on how many files and how large each can be. Cameras produce big images, so a limit keeps your inbox from filling up and keeps uploads from failing on a weak connection.
Decisions we make with you
- ✓File count — how many photos you need to judge the job
- ✓File types — images only, or documents too
- ✓Size limit — large enough for clear photos, small enough to send
- ✓Where files go — your inbox, or a folder you control
Keeping uploads safe and useful
Upload fields attract spam, so we add verification and filtering and then test it with real submissions. A form that blocks genuine customers is worse than one with a little spam.
We also write a short line above the field telling customers what makes a useful photo: wide shot, close shot, something for scale. Better pictures mean fewer follow-up questions.
What to prepare
- ✓What you quote on — the job types where photos help
- ✓Photo tips — what angles you wish customers sent
- ✓Storage plan — who opens attachments and how long you keep them
- ✓Reply process — how you respond with a number or a visit
What to expect, honestly
- ✓No instant pricing — you still review each photo and quote
- ✓No long-term file archive — attachments live in your inbox or folder
- ✓No photo analysis — you or your staff look at each image
