Nobody wants to be the person who turns up to a group run and discovers they cannot keep pace, or finds the wrong parking lot. A running club website does less selling than reassuring. If a nervous beginner can read "walk-run group, all paces, meet at the track gate at seven," that person will show up.
The weekly schedule is the product
Start with a plain list of weekly runs: day, time, meeting spot, distance range and pace group. Add one sentence on who each is for. Link the meeting spot to a map so people can find the exact corner, because "the park" is rarely enough.
For club events, such as a spring 5K or a social run, we link the registration tool you already use. Our page carries the details around it: course description, start time, packet pickup and parking.
What to publish for each group run
- ✓Meeting point — with a landmark and a map link
- ✓Pace range — minutes per mile, or "conversational"
- ✓Route type — loops, hills, trail or road
- ✓Lighting and safety — headlamp or reflective gear in winter
- ✓Who leads — a first name so newcomers know who to find
Joining and the race calendar
Membership forms should be short: name, contact and emergency contact. If you collect dues, your payment tool handles it. A page explaining what membership includes, such as discounts at a local shop or shirts, helps people decide without a chat.
A race calendar keeps members connected between your own events. List local races with dates and any club team arrangement. Members check it each month, and a living calendar is what makes a site feel active.
Pages to build
- ✓Weekly runs — schedule, maps and pace groups
- ✓Events — club races with registration links
- ✓Join — membership information and form
- ✓Race calendar — local events and team plans
- ✓About — leaders and club history
What to expect, honestly
- ✓Waivers and dues run in your own tool — we link them
- ✓Route safety is the club’s call — the site only describes it
- ✓We do not time or score races — results are published by you
